Illnes or incapacity for work
If you become ill or incapacitated, IKEA will continue to pay your salary for the 1st year. It does so in the 2nd year as well, but up to 80% of your salary.
During the first 2 years you continue to build up pension as normal. You build up pension on the salary you receive during your illness.
You are ill for longer than 2 years
In this case you will be declared fully or partially incapacitated. You will receive a WIA benefit (a benefit under the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act) from the government. You will continue to build up pension and IKEA will contribute towards your pension contribution. This is subject to certain conditions.
Things to arrange
- In the first 2 years of illness, you do not have to arrange anything yourself. STIP automatically adapts your pension contribution to your salary.
- If you receive a WIA benefit, STIP will contribute towards your pension contribution. How much we contribute depends on your degree of incapacity for work, as you can see in the table below.
- If your degree of incapacity for work changes, please always notify us and include a copy of your reassessment from the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV).
The degree of your incapacity for work | The percentage by which your pension accrual continues |
80% - 100% | 100% |
65% - 80% | 72,5% |
